I love color. There. I said it. Although my love for black clothing is eternal, I have maintained a love affair with bold statement colors throughout the years. As a plus size woman, it's easy to adopt a wardrobe of all black or dark colors because society tells us they're slimming. The truth is even if an item is black, if it doesn't fit well or if it doesn't make you feel your most comfortable, you are doing your body a disservice. I think there is something freeing about wearing a bright color. It says notice me, look at me, this is who I am. Hues that make you feel playful or more like a fashion risk taker are better to add to a wardrobe than another dress that sucks you in. Besides, once you learn how to balance statement colors, pulling them off is a cinch. For this post, I chose one of my favorite hues, deep fuschia, as my power color and paired it with another unexpected color, sea foam. I balanced the two hues by adding slate gray and egg shell to the mix. The result was a playful look that was still work appropriate. *Side note: I hate that there aren't more pictures, but right after we started taking these a torrential downpour started. #bloggerproblems*
