Styling a 60's Inspired Look in 2017

Styling Note: I have said it before, and I will say it again, I love retro inspired looks. Big, bold sixties prints, patterns, and colors are seriously some of my favorite looks right now. That is one decade that got it right when it came to self expression through apparel.

I started crafting this look around a pair of vintage Christian Dior sunglasses I found at my favorite antique shop. They're a bold orange, big and geometric, so I knew I wanted a print or texture that was on the same level. To achieve this combination, I took a tweed mini skirt from ASOS Curve and paired it with a lady - like chiffon top. (I wanted to channel a little of the Jackie O vibe, minus the pill box hat.) I made sure the colors in the skirt drew back to the glasses. I completed the outfit with a chunky heel in pastel blue. I felt that a second pop of color was the only real way to finish this ensemble off. A 60s look for the 2017 style lover.

"We could be strangers in the night
We could be passing in the shadows
We couldn't be closer if we tried
When we're caught in the headlights
We could be faces in the crowd
We could be passing in the shadows
Upping the risk of being found
When we're caught in the headlights

 Dangerous
 Your love is always dangerous
And now I'm lost in us
We're living in a lying trust

I don't know why but I guess it's got something to do with you
To do with you." -- Imagine Dragons, I Don't Know Why
