Bloggers I Love

"Run, whirlwind run,
Further and further away into the sun.
In 20 minutes, everyone will remember you when you're gone.
And your heart, is a stone,
  Buried underneath your pretty clothes.
Don't you know people write songs about girls like you?

What will you do when something stops you?
What will you say to the world?
What will you be when it all comes crashing
Down on you little girl?" Girls Like You, The Naked and Famous

One of the things I want to start doing as I grow my blog and expand my presence is sharing where I get my inspiration from. For a long time, I was not taking advantage of all the creative information that was literally at my finger tips. There are so many different styles/techniques I want to try and there are bloggers out there who embody those styles. I have gotten together a list of my 7 favorite bloggers right now. These are people I feel I can learn from, who's looks I like, or who have an awesome online presentation. I have tried to stay away from obvious choices like Gabi Fresh, Nicolette Mason, and the Blonde Salad. Not because those are bad blogs, but because I want you to join me as I discover new bloggers that you may not know about.

1.) The Bohemian - Bianca Karina

I wish I had discovered this blogger sooner! I only recently found her on Tumblr because I am starting to use that account again. (If you have a Tumblr, come say hi! https://www.tumblr.com/blog/obsessionsofafashionnerd) Bianca has a great flair for mixing city styles and bohemian accents. I loved all her plus sized Coachella looks, especially the one pictured above. I think I am drawn to gypsy-like or bohemian looks because the softer fabrics like laces and gauze make them very romantic. It adds an almost wistful quality to any outfit.

2.) The Professor - Krista Dickson

Krista Dickson is a lifestyle blogger who also teaches other bloggers how to maximum their online footprint. She has a Facebook group called Blog-Woo Babes, which I am a part of. It is a great forum to speak with other bloggers, get inspiration, and learn new techniques. I only recently stumbled upon her blog, Blog Beautifully, but since I have I definitely have learned a ton. As far as the Facebook group goes, in addition to learning new skills, it is great to have a group of like minded individuals keeping you accountable and consistent.

3.) The Sophisticate - Nancy Whittington-Coates

Sugar, Darling? is an amazing blog all around, but what I admire most about Nancy is her ability to set a scene. When I look at her blog, I feel like I am reading a fashion magazine. It is that editorial. Don't worry, she does include full outfit shots in addition to the more stylized photographs, so you can see details of her look. As a girl with a few of my own, I also love that she has so many tattoos. I think there is a misconception that ink makes it harder to pull of lady like fashion. Whittington-Coates blows that idea away.

4. The Vixen - Luanna Perez-Garreaud

Not all my inspirations are plus size bloggers. I feel like if that was the only resource I looked at, then I would be putting myself into a box. Luanna, from Le-Happy, has a great sense of style, very rock 'n' roll. She comes off as fearless and effortless at the same time. The thing that inspires me most about her blog is her sense of zero f%$ks given. She tries some looks I doubt I would ever feel brave enough to try, but that bravery is contagious. So what if I am not stepping out on the streets of NYC in fishnets and sweatshirt. I am trying a two piece swimsuit for the first time and I am trying a body con dress. When I see others taking fashion risks, it makes me feel like I can do the same.

5.) The Art Student - Aimee Song

Song of Style is currently my favorite blog (For more reasons than I have time to list!). Aimee Song wrote a book about mastering Instagram, which is how I first heard of her. She has great outfit posts as well as travel pictures, but what I truly get inspired by is the photography in her posts. In her book, Capture Your Style, Aimee talks about framing, the Rule of Thirds, and how to use texture to vary your pictures. When you look at her blog, you can really see that she practices what she preaches. When I look at Song of Style, it makes me want to up my photo game.

6.) The Glamazon - Rochelle Johnson

Beauticurve is a great blog if you are looking to up your lady like fashion game both in apparel and cosmetics. Rochelle has a way of always coming off polished, even in her more adventurous looks like the floral suit above. I like that she includes her skincare and makeup routines on her blog that way her readers can learn tips. She and I have similar coloring, so it works out nicely. Another reason I like IamBeauticurve, is her ability to always looks glamorous no matter where she is going. It makes me feel like dressing up even when the places I am going are not necessarily exciting or extravagant.

7.) The Wild Card - Amanda

Whew! We made it to number 7! The final blogger I am going to talk about in this post is Amanda, from Amanda Apparel. She is a British plus size blogger that I have just discovered. I love her ash gray hair and septum piercing. (If you haven't already guessed, I would have a million piercings and tattoos if my day job would allow it.) This blogger is a little hard to pin down as far as why she inspires me; I cannot put it to just one thing. I like her boldness and willingness to try more revealing styles. It's a nice change to actually see how certain lingerie styles will look on my body type. At the same time, she does ladylike fashion very well too. I think Amanda is an all around beauty and love looking at her grid on Instagram.
